Chelsea star refuses to rule out reunion with Thomas Tuchel – ‘Never say never’

The pair won the Champions League at Chelsea in 2021 with the forward scoring the winning goal against Manchester City in Porto.

Havertz established himself as Tuchel’s focal point at Stamford Bridge and even kept huge summer signing Romelu Lukaku out of the team.

The former Blues boss, however, was sacked in September and replaced by Graham Potter.

While Havertz remains a key part of Chelsea’s first-team, Tuchel has since been appointed Bayern Munich manager.

The Bundesliga giants moved quickly to appoint the 49-year-old following the sacking of Julian Nagelsmann.

Tottenham, who were also linked with a move for Tuchel, are keen to speak to Nagelsmann after finally confirming the exit of Antonio Conte earlier this week.

“Bayern are generally a huge club that it’s hard to say no to as a German player, but my personal goal has always been to play abroad at some point. In England or Spain,” Havertz told Sport Bild.

“I had a very good relationship with him and am very grateful for everything.

“You never know what will happen in football. Everything can happen very quickly. Never say never.”

Havertz and Tuchel could meet in the Champions League semi-finals this season should Chelsea overcome Real Madrid and Bayern beat City in the quarter-finals next month.
