Chelsea vs Lyon: Women’s Champions League – LIVE!

Chelsea carry a narrow one-goal lead over Lyon for tonight’s Women’s Champions League quarter-final at Stamford Bridge. A brilliant curling effort from Guro Reiten gave Emma Hayes’s side the lead in France last week as the Blues look to win the one trophy to have eluded them thus far.

Beaten finalists in 2021, this is a huge game against the current holders. Lyon knocked Chelsea out of the semi-finals in 2019 and have won 12 of their 13 quarter-final ties in the Champions League, so are hardly going to let their heads drop despite the first leg defeat.

Hayes has urged her team to go on the attack in front of home support as Chelsea seek what would be a famous win at the Bridge. Follow all of the action LIVE with Standard Sport’s dedicated match blog! Simon Collings will be providing expert analysis from the ground.

The French side will be boosted by the return of Hegerberg, who marked her first appearance in more than five months at the weekend by scoring one minute after coming on as a substitute in Lyon’s 6-0 win over Guingamp.

The striker is the leading scorer in the history of the Women’s Champions League, but centre-back Eriksson is adamant Chelsea have what it takes to keep her quiet.
