Tottenham injury update: Richarlison, Lloris and Perisic latest news and return dates
Both players spent the international break working on issues before Monday’s trip to Goodison Park.
However, a number of defenders are set to miss out including Ivan Perisic, Emerson Royal, Ben Davies and Ryan Sessegnon.
The centre of midfield has also been hit with Rodrigo Bentancur and Yves Bissouma more long-term absentees.
Here is your latest update on Tottenham injuries and return dates…
Richarlison pulled out of the Brazil squad after limping off in tears after just a few minutes of the 3-3 draw to Southampton before the international break.
It was feared the calf injury could lead to a lengthy lay-off for the forward, however Standard Sport understands that Richarlison has avoided serious injury and is not expected to be out for long.
While the trip to Everton on Monday night might yet come too soon, the Brazilian should be fit to return to face Brighton on April 8.
Lloris made his return to action during the international break as he played for 45 minutes against Ipswich in a behind-closed-doors friendly.
“It was good to be back on the pitch, to have that reference,” Lloris told Tottenham’s official club website.
“Obviously, it’s been a long journey, but step by step I’m closer to a return. I’ll keep working and I’d like to thank all the staff for their help.”
Since then, he has featured in first-team training ahead of the Everton game with Lloris pictured in the full Spurs workout on Thursday.
While on Croatia duty in the week, Perisic pulled up with an apparent calf injury.
The Spurs wing-back spent Thursday away from the main group as he trained on his own in the gym.
He is therefore a doubt to face Everton.
It remains uncertain whether Emerson will play again this season, with the defender having undergone surgery on a meniscus injury picked up while on international duty. It is set to keep him out for six weeks, meaning the Brazilian could potentially still feature before the end of the campaign.
“We can confirm that Emerson Royal suffered a meniscus injury to his left knee while on international duty with Brazil last week,” a club statement read.
“The defender will undergo surgery before beginning his rehabilitation with our medical staff.”
Davies is expected to be out for between four and six weeks after suffering a hamstring injury that forced him off against Southampton.
The Welsh defender will almost certainly miss the entirety of April, but could well return for the last couple of games of the season.
Spurs host Brentford on May 20, before travelling to Leeds a week later on the final day of the campaign.
Bentancur will miss the rest of the season as he continues his recovery from the ACL injury suffered against Leicester in February.
The midfielder has been sharing images of his rehab process on social media, though Bentancur is expected to miss the start of next season with a September return date being eyed.
“We can confirm that Rodrigo Bentancur has ruptured the anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee and will be out of action for the remainder of the campaign,” a Tottenham statement said.
“He will undergo surgery before beginning his rehabilitation with our medical staff.”
A hamstring injury continues to keep Sessegnon on the sidelines, one that was picked up in mid-February and expected to keep him out for six weeks.
That timeframe would suggest he is not far away from a return, but speaking ahead of the Southampton match, Conte confirmed that Sessegnon “won’t be ready” to feature straight after the international break.
However, it is believed the 22-year-old has been doing plenty of gym work while his team-mates have been away and could make his comeback soon.
Bissouma is still recovery from ankle surgery, with no further update yet given on when he could return. It is feared he too may struggle to play again this season.
Spurs said at the time: “We can confirm that Yves Bissouma is to undergo surgery to repair a stress fracture to his left ankle.
“A timeframe for his return will be determined after surgery. He will begin rehabilitation with our medical staff as soon as possible.”
