Jennifer Grey on Johnny Depp trial after saying he was ‘jealous’ in relationship
Dirty Dancing star Jennifer Grey was briefly engaged to Johnny Depp, with her having shared her thoughts on his ongoing trial against his ex-wife Amber Heard, which is happening in Virginia
Jennifer Grey has opened up about seeing her ex fiancé Johnny Depp in court against Amber Heard, after saying he became “jealous” during her own relationship with him.
The Dirty Dancing star, 62, had been in a relationship with the Pirates of the Caribbean actor, 58, in around 1989, with them said to have got engaged just two weeks after meeting.
They’re understood to have got together after Grey had split from Matthew Broderick, 60, with her engaged to Depp for nine months before they too separated.
Depp later had relationships with Vanessa Paradis, 49, and Heard, 36 – with him having more recently taken a libel case against the latter, which is currently ongoing.
Speaking about seeing her ex’s court case, Grey told Entertainment Tonight: “All I can say about that trial is that it breaks my heart for everybody involved.”
She further commented in an interview with the outlet recently: “I just think it’s sad and I wish it was resolved.” Grey concluded to ET: “I just wish everybody well.”
Discussing her past relationship with Depp, she said they were both “young” and that she felt at the time that he was the “answer to [her] problems,” with her praising him.

She suggested that he was “sweet, loving, romantic and crazy about [her],” with her explaining that she was “desperate” to rebound with someone like Depp in 1989.
It was previously reported by the Independent that in her new memoir, Out of the Corner, she said he had been “open, funny, quirky and sweet” when they got together.
She however reportedly suggested that his behaviour changed during the relationship, with him described as having an “ill temper” at times with his fiancee Grey.

She’s quoted as having written about her experience: “When he did come home [to Los Angeles], he’d be crazy jealous and paranoid about what I’d been up to while he was gone.”
According to excerpts published by the Independent, Grey attributed Depp’s “ill temper” to him feeling “miserable” about his job on the TV series 21 Jump Street.
The Mirror approached a rep of Depp for comment.
